AP Statistics introduces students to the major concepts and tools for collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. Students entering the course have grown accustomed to an investigative, student-centered approach to learning mathematics, and that pedagogy will continue in this course. Students will be expected to read the course textbook to prepare for the following day’s material. Great emphasis is placed on the students’ ability to communicate their process and their conclusions both in written and oral form. Students are required to do quality writing on all homework assignments, investigations, projects, and assessments. As the course progresses, class time is spent on refining and improving their responses.
