Third grade is a crucial year for our young students. They are reading to learn more than learning to read, and they are reading more than ever. Our third graders need appropriate support in how to read with accuracy, identify the main idea while remembering and determining the most important details from the text. In this class, your child will work on reading comprehension, inferring while reading, understand the main purpose of the text, learn the proper way to use the passage to help them answer the questions followed by the passage, and many more. Students will also get to practice their writing, especially by focusing on creative writing and take more risks as writers. As part of the class, the teacher will keep an ongoing assessment to figure out what s/he needs to work on and give constant feedback to the families.
