In this course, young students will have their first exposure to computer programming. Scratch, created by MIT researchers, is a programming language primarily used to create games and developed for elementary school students. The primary goal of this course is to learn Scratch to create one’s own games and generate enthusiasm for computer science.
Students should show up with eagerness to learn and all the technology required. The class will be hands on, requiring a working computer as students will be working on projects during class. There will be different projects each week as students learn to utilize scripts, loops, graphics and storytelling to create fun and compelling games.
